August 4, 1997 to June 1, 2011

My Anna, with a couple of months till her 14th birthday is now laid to rest. My 'Heart' dog and faithful companion this page is dedicated to her. I miss her terribly.

Anna's life started on August 4, 1997 born to CH Shalimar's Komes A Kourtin, sired by CH Shalimar's Classic Time Piece in Flager Beach, FL. Breeder, Mary Ann Meekins.

With having researched the breed well over a year prior to Anna's birth, I had a plan mapped out for our lives together and for the past 13 years it has been quite a journey. There is something very special about training a dog and spending much quality time together as the bond is awesome. The performance trials was one way to mark our journey together.

Anna's history

Anna obtained her UKC Agility Novice A title at 1 year 23 days old.  (8/23/98).
We then went on to compete in AKC Agility Novice B.  In three trials she earned her title all with perfect scores of 100 and first place winnings on:  Oct 31, 1998; Dec 12, 1998 and Jan 1, 1999

Next title was AKC Novice B Jumpers with Weaves in three trials.  Dates:  Jan 1, 1999, Jan 2, 1999, and March 6, 1999.      By the first part of the year 2000, Anna obtained her AKC Open Agility Title
Changing performance events, in three trials Anna obtained her UKC Novice Obedience title.  2 trials on Sept. 23, 2000 (191 1/2 & 193), 3rd trial on Sept. 24, 2000 to title with a 189 1/2.

Starting on Dec 9, 2000, Anna scored a 195 for her 1st AKC Novice Obedience title in Miami, FL
Then 1st place and trophey on Feb 3, 2001 at Davie, FL with a 191 1/2 score.
Last leg to title on Feb 4, 2001 with a 1st Place and Trophey plus High Scoring Cocker Spaniel at Davie, FL with a score of 193 1/2.

AKC Open Obedience title came in three shows ending with a 1st place at the Cocker Spaniel Club of Southeastern Florida trial on March 9th, 2001 in West Palm Beach, FL.

UKC Open Obedience title came in three shows all second place ribbons.  Title date was Feb 24, 2002.

On June 30, 2001, Anna and I were part of the 1st DACOF (Dog Agility Competition Of Florida) entered in the Excellent class. A fabulous fast run with knocking down the last pole but in DACOF that isn't a disqualification, just points deducted. Anna did the team 'Course Of Action' proud.

Later while working towards our AKC Open Jumpers with Weaves title, Miss Anna started having difficulties in agility and she seemed to say to me that she hurt doing it.  Anna measured 14 1/8 " which had her jumping 16".  Instead of putting her in the Preferred class, I retired her from Agility.

Anna and I participated in the 2001 (DOCOF) Dog Obedience Clubs of Florida in Orlando, FL

The highlight of Anna's career was when we attending and participated the 2005 Cocker Nationals in Perry, GA where we not only met up with many of our Christian Cocker friends (Sandy Roland, Kimber Linderman, Sara Bicsak, & Susan Flowers) but also Anna achieved a 1st place in Open B obedience.

Anna is my  'Heart' dog.  This little girl and I have butted heads together, cried together, laughed together, traveled a lot together and learned together.  Anna has taught me much.
